Otto Henze was the founder of Penn Fishing Tackle in 1932 and since then Penn have been producing fine fishing equipment.

Although the first Penn fishing reel was sold in 1933, work on the first reels started earlier, the mod f and mod k. The mod f had bakelite side plates while the k model had many of the same parts but was different in that it had a lever type free spool also reinforced metal side plates.

Over a period of only a few years Penn reels sales were increasing rapidly, this was obviously due to the fact that quality speaks for itself.
Then in 1936 Penn developed the most famous of reels, the Penn Senator, here we had a reel that was capable of catching more powerful fish.

Today Penn are still making world class reels capable of fishing in many different challenges, below we will look at just a few in the extensive range.
